Privacy Notice

This notice explains how information is used to operate Cellmate Connections.

Information collected

We may receive account identifiers and email information through ChatGPT sign-in, membership status through Stripe, inmate profile details and answers to 10 meaningful questions, self-created outside-member profile details, consent confirmations, private verification details, each member’s private Interested or Pass choices, introduction messages, support requests, and administrator moderation records. To limit support-form abuse, we temporarily store one-way hashes of network address and email rate-limit keys; old counters are deleted automatically.

Protected information

Legal names, facility and institutional mailing details, inmate or DOC numbers, provider identifiers, and optional personal disclosures are available only to administrators for review. They are not automatically included in public profiles. Do not submit passwords, card numbers, medical records, victim or witness identifying information, or private residential addresses.

How information is used

Information is used to authenticate members, process membership access, review questionnaire answers and prepare consent-reviewed inmate profiles and separately review outside-member profiles, handle introductions and support requests, prevent abuse, and comply with law. Interest and Pass choices are kept with the member account to maintain its private discovery list; they are not shared with the profile subject or other members. You may request removal through Support.

Service providers

Payments are processed by Stripe. Continued communication may occur through independent correctional providers such as GettingOut or ConnectNetwork. Their terms and privacy notices apply separately.

Your choices

You may request correction or removal of a profile, withdraw consent, stop an introduction, or cancel a subscription. Safety-related records may be retained when reasonably necessary to prevent abuse or comply with law.
